Frozen Bubble OSCified

Frozen Bubble OSCFrozen Bubble OSCified is a modified version of the java version of the Open Source game Frozen Bubble. Frozen Bubble OSCified sends almost every event and relevant information in game over Open Sound Control (OSC) to any audio-environment that can handle OSC (for example SuperCollider, Max/MSP and others …). This allows you to compose your own game soundtrack. But there are more possibilities: You can use the game as an inerface for a musical instrument, a MIDI-Controller, a controller for an interactive sound-installation or as a compositional tool … or just play with it!

Here is an example from the installation “Sound Bubbles” I made together with Juan Alzate, aka. Rukano in July 2008 at the University of Music in Karlsruhe. The SuperCollider code for this piece is also included in the download.

A regular user should only need the precompiled package. If you want to compile it on your own you should check out the BUILDING.txt in the source distribution. A complete description of every OSC message is included in both .zip files. There are also two example files in SuperCollider (including Sound Bubbles and an example for controlling Frozen Bubble OSCified with a gamepad over OSC).

Frozen Bubble OSCified is based on the java port by Glenn Sanson, released under GPL. Therefore i will release Frozen Bubble OSCified under GPL as well. For the OSC functionality i used the NetUtil Library by Hanns Holger Rutz.
